Can you use a regular cell phone as a phone that you use those calling cards on?
Yes, but you'll still get charged for airtime from the cell carrier.
I use an international calling card with my cellphone, so I don't have to pay the high rates of the carrier. I call on weekends, so I get the free weekend minutes with my cellphone.

In my opinion you can

Reply:Yes you can. I've done it before and it does work.

What can we do about bad calling cards?
Um... Don't buy the calling cards that are bad like "VISA."
Calling cards like "Turbo" are not bad.

Calling from Canada to UAE ( Dubai) cellphone, the best rate is 16.5 cents / min with maintenance fee, or 18.9 cents / min without maintenance fee. the currency is US dollar.
All cards have NO connection fee.

What calling card (phone card) can I buy in the US so I can call the US from France on my Trip?
I saw a Sprint International Phone Card that said things about calling from the U.S. to other countries. I haven't seen any cards that say anything about calling from a country to the U.S.
Do I need to wait until I get to the country to get the phone card? Or where should I go to get one in this country? Where do I get one in France if I get one there, I'll be with a group and may not be stopping at many convenience stores.
Thanks so much.
What calling card (phone card) can I buy in the US so I can call the US from France on my Trip?
A few French companies sell calling cards on the Internet.
(not all have a website in English)
Examples:
http://www.iradium.fr
http://www.centraltelecom.fr/cartes-tele...
Most have connection costs. Read the small print.
Reply:Paris has plenty of small Internet cafés %26amp; Telecom shops that sell a variety of calling cards, esp. in the "ethnic" neighborhoods. But since you will be in a group, you probably won't get near one such shop. Hence my suggestion to look at French telecom websites. Report Abuse

What are the prices and rates for a GSM calling card in Mexico?
I'm traveling to Mexico and I want to purchase a mobile phone calling card once I arrive in Mexico. I hope to use it to make phone calls from Mexico to the United States while traveling. What are the rates and costs for these calling cards? Will they be cheaper then using Cingular's $0.99/minute International roaming?
What are the prices and rates for a GSM calling card in Mexico?
I don´t think so. The international roaming here (MXtoUS) on Telcel (the cheapest) is a dollar a minut plus one more dollar of long distance. And because there is no legal fee stablished by government they charge you double and you can´t do anything.
If you want, you can buy a kit called Amigo Kit from 50usd aprox. but i recommend you to use it for SMS. Calls, just if it is very necesary.
Another option is to bring your own cellphone and use it with SMS and only very necesary calls.
Good luck!!
