Is there a cheaper way to call Pakistan from the U.S. besides using calling cards?

I have heard of getting an adapter to connect to my phone with an access number or something like that. I'd really like some information.

Is there a cheaper way to call Pakistan from the U.S. besides using calling cards?
If you don't mind using VoIP over your PC, then you could try MediaRing Talk.

http://www.mediaringtalk.com

They are currenly offering free 10 minute calls to anywhere in USA, Canada, UK, Australia, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong.

Their current posted rate to Pakistan is 8 cent/min using PC-Phone. Only pay-as-you-go prepaid calling. No contracts, etc...

Also to Pakistan:

Skype is currently quoting 14 cents/min

Gizmo Project is quoting 13-14 cents/min

Best rate to Pakistan I found is CallCentric @ 4 cents/min.

CallCentric can be used with softphone on PC or with ATA VoIP adapter connected to router. (See my profile for links.)
Reply:you can call Pakistan from www.dialontel.com

It would cost only 0.021 Cents aproximately 2 Cents

with Dialontel you can call for less than 2 cents for low voice quality. Report Abuse

Reply:You can use "Skype" on your computer or Tel3Advantage on your land line.
Reply:After the various computer based systems (you can call computer to computer free via the internet, or computer to phone for a moderate cost using Skype, Wengophone, Voipstunt etc). the cheapest solution is webcalldirect.

You go to the webcalldirect.com page. Type in your number and the number you want to call in Pakistan. You will have to buy some credit first - you can do this online, even with an American credit card. Although Webcalldirect is based in Europe and all the prices are in euros, it works from the US too. A call to Pakistan will cost you 3 euro-cents a minute, about 5 US cents a minute.
Reply:There are programs you can use to do it over the internet. Voice over IP phones are replacing your old analog phones.
Reply:acutaly if you call AT%26amp;T they have aspecial calling card with military rates, it is designed specialy to call those delploed over seas at war, but i am not sure if therse are only for those in the miltary or if private citizens can get them thecard is the cheapest there is
