I live in the USA and my friend is going to Iraq. I want to buy her a phone card. Will all of them work for her???
Can you use phone calling cards anywhere?
some calling cards company has access numbers abroad.
Pincity for example (www.pincity.com) is quite cheap from the us to europe and also have toll free access numbers in europe.
pincity does not have any number in Iraq.
You can get a military exhance prepaid calling card.
https://thor.aafes.com/scs/default.aspx
they run at 21 cents per minute.
Reply:Check http://www.eecalling.com, some of the cards don't have Maintenance Fee, some have, and Rounding minutes the lower the better, all depends on how you used the cards.
you can buy your card anywhere at any time, you get the PIN NO. instantly after you paid.

Reply:A world phone card will work
Reply:I don't think so. If you buy US cards, they will work only in the US
Reply:hey sunflowers i have no idea i dont like to use phone cards but all of my friends are in the USA
sorry that i dont know GOOD LUCK FINDING OUT :)
Reply:Hi Sunflower. Not all of them will work. I think its actually less expensive to call her from the USA. The rates are much better. You should check rates on a couple of websites before making a decision. If you are unsure of what questions to ask prior to buying a card, try a search for phone card tips on your favorite search engine. Before I purchased my first phone card, I found some good tips at a website called SpeedyPin. I'm sure there are others, but this satisfied my questions.
Reply:No Dont Think So.. she wil have to purchase them in Iraq.. But check first.

Reply:You cant call him unless he has a cell phone there and if you do call him your bill will be up the roof. YOu guys can instant messenge each other for free. its what my husband who is in iraq and i do.
Reply:use a calling card, it is much cheaper. but dont buy a regular one that you would buy from the store, if you do, say you bought a 500 min card, you would only get about 50 minutes if your lucky. if you go to www.callingcards.com, they sell international calling cards and you get all the minutes you buy, i used it when my hubby was in iraq. just make sure that you select Iraq cellular in the destination box.
Reply:I think the best way woudl be for him to have a laptop and you two instant message each other, and if you two haev a webcam and speakers/mic, you can see, and talk and hear each other....its much cheaper...and you can actually see him that way

AT&T Calling Cards...Calling from Iraq to States?
My husband and I talk everyday on the phone and sometimes spend 40 dollars in one day on adding minutes to his phone card. For 550 units...which is about 3 hours for calling from Iraq to here costs $42. I am aware that he must use AT%26amp;T calling cards but can you use the ones they sell at Walmart or do you have to get them directly from AT%26amp;T or AAFES? Are we spending too much for what we are getting?

I did a search and found this on a government website. Doesn't sound good for the Walmart cards (especially the last paragraph). -sorry

PALLONE SEEKS ANSWERS FROM AT%26amp;T ABOUT CALLING CARD PROBLEM IN IRAQ
Says Both DoD and AT%26amp;T Must Do Better Job of Educating Public On Best Options
Long Branch, NJ --- One day after calling on the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Inspector General (IG) to investigate calling card problems our soldiers are now dealing with in Iraq, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today talked with officials at AT%26amp;T about the problem and sent a letter formally asking the DoD Inspector General Joseph E. Schmitz to conduct an investigation into how prevalent these calling card problems are in Iraq.
According to AT%26amp;T, over 80 percent of calls made at AT%26amp;T call centers are made with one of its special military calling cards, the so-called 550-unit AT%26amp;T Global Prepaid Phone Card, that charge soldiers 19 to 21 cents per minute. These special AT%26amp;T calling cards can only be purchased either on military bases or on the web at the "Army %26amp; Air Force Exchange Service" site (www.aafes.com). AT%26amp;T says these are the only calls that guarantee soldiers a 19 to 21 cent per minute rate at a call location built by AT%26amp;T in Iraq.
"AT%26amp;T says an overwhelming majority of our soldiers are using its cheaper military cards, but I'd like your office to investigate how prevalent the problem is of soldiers using other cards that do not give them the best deal," Pallone wrote in his letter to the Inspector General. "If the Defense Department determines a real problem exists, I urge DoD to find a solution that allows other cards to be used at these sites without major penalties that dramatically reduce the amount of time available to our troops to get in touch with their families."
Yesterday, after hearing about the problems military personnel in Iraq are having with some of the calling cards they receive from the U.S., the New Jersey congressman announced plans to ask the Defense Department's IG to investigate contract services provided by AT%26amp;T to our troops in Iraq. Today, in his letter, Pallone asked the IG to also explore ways to better educate both the public here in the U.S. and troops in Iraq on the cheapest ways to call home.
"It's important that our troops have access to the best deals possible," Pallone continued in his letter. "To that end, I urge the DoD to explore ways to educate the public about the best calling cards to use, and to warn them about huge problems if they choose to send other cards."
Pallone also asked AT%26amp;T to work with military family groups and the New Jersey National Guard to better educate them about the importance of using or sending only 550-unit global card to Iraq so our soldiers get the full benefit of the minutes on the card.
"Both the military and AT%26amp;T must do a better job of educating military families and others interested in sending calling cards over to our soldiers that these special AT%26amp;T cards are the only cards they should be purchasing for our troops," Pallone said. "The 19 to 21 cents a minute deal is certainly reasonable, but we just need to make sure these are the cards our soldiers in Iraq are using when they call home."
A report in this weekend's Star Ledger cited troop and family complaints that the number of units or minutes advertised on calling cards rarely represents the service provided. They also complain that troops are only allowed to use AT%26amp;T calling cards in the call centers and are forced to use a less reliable phone system if they hope to use a non-AT%26amp;T calling card. The report cited an example in which the Salvation Army purchased a 120-minute AT%26amp;T card at Wal-Mart for $7, but a reporter's call on the card only allowed eight minutes of service before termination.

Reply:Hello, I just came back from Iraq 2 months ago from a 7 month deployment. It depends on where your husband is stationed. If he is in an established base they should have access to an MWR where he can purchase a SPAWARE account on line. It costs about 4 cents/min. on the phone to the states. I have been to some pretty nasty places in Iraq where there weren't any means of communication. It takes patience. Trust me. Everything will be OK.
Reply:have him get the codes to the satilite and he could be calling for free. just hang around the phone booths and ask somebody for a code.
Reply:I'm not sure if there's a difference in the ammount of time you get from the ones purchased through AAFES, but I do know for a fact that the 550 unit cards that you buy on post are $39. For the specific rates you'd have to either call them or see if it's listed online somewhere.
If you want to save money, have him not call home every day, or at least don't burn through an entire 3 hours of talk time every time he calls. I know it's nice to hear from him when he's gone, but time actually goes by quicker if you only hear from him once a week. Instead of measuring it day to day between calls, or feeling like you have to hang around a phone so you don't miss him, measuring a year week to week between calls makes it seem like less time, saves money, and makes the calls that much more special. Sometimes I'll hear from my husband 2 or 3 times in a weekend, and then I won't hear from him again for 2 or 3 weeks. Y'know what, I can't believe most days that it's been as long as it has since he left.
Reply:Consider MCI World Traveler Phone Card. No Connect Fee. 1 min. Rounding. No Other Fees. 6.1¢/minute from U.S. Military Bases Worldwide including IRAQ. So an hour talk would be only $3.67. You may buy it at http://www.ampolbiz.com/SpeedyPin.htm
As for AT%26amp;T cards the rate depends WHERE you buy them. On line outlets such as the one mentioned above seem to have the best rates.
Reply:I can only imagine how hard it can be to be so far away from each other. This webpage seems to have pretty good deals on calling cards from USA to IRaq.... Good luck, hope it helps=)

I don't know why he could only use AT%26amp;T cards. I guess if the phones are at%26amp;t then the connect fee is cheaper on their cards.

Can you use a calling card on a cruise?
I am planning for a cruise and I was wondering if you can use a calling card from the phones in the rooms. I will be traveling with Royal Caribbean cruise lines. I know that you can use their phones to make calls but it costs almost $8.00 a minute. Any information would be appreciated.
Can you use a calling card on a cruise?
Yes, you can use calling cards on the cruise ship. To find more information go to the site below or contact your local travel agent.
Reply:Boy, that would be a great idea. However, the answer is NO.
The cruiselines have you by the short and curlies when it comes to making phone calls from the ship. It is around $8 per minute plus a set-up fee. No calling cards can be used.
Their Internet rates for email is just about as expensive. You are charged around 75 cents per minute or you can buy a package of 30, 60, or 100 minutes and the per minute rate goes down slightly.
You can also wait until you get to a port and make your phone calls using a calling card when you are on shore. You can also find very inexpensive Internet shops to access your email. I used one in Mexico at the rate of $1 per hour. I was on it for a half hour and was charged 50 cents. I bought a beer with the other 50 cents.
Reply:tbugs is right, you will be held by the short %26amp; curlies while you are on the ship. Many of the cruise ships have started having a cell installed on them called Cellular@Sea, it works with many of the cellular carriers but still is a per minute charge ($2.99 for Sprint), that may be an alternative to you.

Calling a cell phone from jail? What kind of calling card is needed?
I have heard that there is a calling card that I buy which allows someone in county jail to be able to call my cell phone. Does anyone have any info on where to obtain one?
Calling a cell phone from jail? What kind of calling card is needed?
I believe that different jails have different services. Call the jail and ask the dentention officer if they have an 800 number to set it up. If that does no good, ask to speak to the jail administrator during normal business hours.
(from a Detention Officer at a County Jail)
Reply:No problem. You can search for this card at International Phone Card Review

Reply:it's not a calling card, per say. It's called inmate telephone. all you have to do is sign up your credit or debit card and the phone number the inmate is going to be calling and they can call you! Just google inmate telephone and you'll find it.

Search for best rates from the country you are calling from and to. They send the number to call via email. I called Hungary from US for less than 5 cents a minute.
Reply:Why do you not phone with skype trough the internet? That is absolutly free of costs.

Reply:You can buy them at most "Kiosks" (small stands that sell newspapers), just ask for an "internationale telefon karte". I can't remember where any of these are in downtown Greifswald off the top of my head, but if your friends ask at the Info stand (designated by a large blue "I") I'm sure they'll help them out.

When my grandma calls me using her calling card, it usually shows up with a phone number from Atlanta, GA, and she is in Kansas. We usually buy her calling cards at Wal-Mart or Sam's Club. I think it just depends on the company issuing the calling card as to what shows up on your caller ID.

Is there some way to penalize the fraud of the company that selling long distance calling cards?
Utility Commission...local area
Does using a calling card cancel out charges for the person recieving the call, or just the caller?
If I'm recieving a long distance call, and the person calling uses a phone card to call, can I still be charged?
I plan on recieving calls from Ontario, Canada, to California. My phone plan is with AT%26amp;T/Cingular, if that matters.
Does using a calling card cancel out charges for the person recieving the call, or just the caller?
you will be billed "airtime" or "minutes", if your phone you'll be receiving the call is on a cell phone. if it's a land line, or something that does not charge per minute, then you won't be billed for anything. other than that, you won't incurr any long distance charges or anything. only the person making the phone call is responsible for "paying".
Reply:A calling card will not cancel out the air time usage. It will only take care of the long distance part of the charges. If you're calling another mobile number, then their air time will also be charged to them.

Calling cards used with cell fones?
Say your minutes are free after 9pm and you called sumbody internationally with a calling card...does it count as the "free call" or yud get charged
Calling cards used with cell fones?
it is a free call
Reply:I believe that you'd be charged on the calling card, but=t you would not get charged on your phone, because its free after 9pm.
For example, if your caling card is 60 mins, and you called at 10pm. Lets say your call is 30 mins long. You'd just use up half of your calling card limit (30 out of 60) but you'd not get charged for using your phone, because your minutes are free after nine.
Reply:my boyfriend does it all the time and it would be free if u call them after 9 or on the weekends if u have free nights/weekends. but if u use it during the peak hours then it just uses ur minutes from ur plans.
Reply:im pretty sure it'll be free, i mean, that is the whole point of a calling card, to not get charged....but dont go by what i say lol
Reply:Depending on the carrier, but usually it is free of charge and does not count against your minutes. I work for Sprint and my wife does this all the time when she uses her cell phone to make calls internationally. Before you do it I would call up customer service just to make sure. Better that than getting a big surprise on your next bill.
On a seperate note make sure you start the call on or after 9PM as the minutes count against when you originally place (or receive) the call. For example, if you make a call at 8:55 Pm that lasts 30 minutes the entire 30 minutes will be charged against your unused minutes, even though 25 minutes of the call were after the 9PM 'free' time. That works the same if you receive a call as well.
Conversely if you make a call during the 'free' time period that extends into the non-free time period this would not count against your unused minutes. To use the above example again lets say the free minutes time ended at 7 AM and you place a call at 6:55 AM that lasts 30 minutes. None of those 30 minutes would be charged against your unused minutes because the call was originated during the free minutes time period.

Best prepaid calling card to use;US land line to Mexican cell phone?
What is the best calling card to use for reaching a friend on a cell phone who resides in Rosarito MX? It seems like most prepaid calling cards charge excessively when trying to reach someone in Mexico on their mobile number as opposed to a land line.
Best prepaid calling card to use;US land line to Mexican cell phone?
I've been using http://MiniCalls.com for 3 years now and no complaints. Clear lines and cheap rates and the best part is NO EXTRA FEES like many of the other cards. Today is the last day for their mother's day promotion where you get double free minutes.

Why do Mongolia calling card rates change overnight from 60min $5 card to a 12min $5 card?
My wife and I have used several calling cards bought at local retailers and have found that the $ rate changes constantly. She tells me its the Country of Mongolia or USA. I believe it's the calling card companies. I want a stable rate thats inexpensive.
Why do Mongolia calling card rates change overnight from 60min $5 card to a 12min $5 card?
Yes, since deregulation of telecom its open to charge what they want. You need to go back to the cheap charges paid in the past and forget the rest.

Any one is good, calling to Mexico from the U.S. is not expensive, as opposed to calling Central America or South America.

Reply:I know that when you are calling to Mexico from the US you are supposed to dial 011-52 and then the ten digit local number. If you are calling a cell phone in Mexico, you have to add another digit to that: 011-52-1 and then the ten digit #.
As for calling cards, there are thousands of them out there and i think you can buy them online. I just read something about calling cards and Mexico in the newsletter my insurance company sends out... i'll find it and post the link in my sources below.
you also might want to look into the whole international callback thing, if you have someone in tabasco that might want to call you.

Do Calling Cards quietly change their rates "skyward" very often?
I was going to get this called known as the "Royal Call" card by ECC .. I found it on a phone calling card site. Their rates are good (I live in Canada):
· No Connection Fee
· No Maintenance Fee
· Service Taxes %26amp; Surcharges - 10%
· Rounding - 1 minutes
· Validity period - Unlimited (**)
· Toll Free Access Numbers - Yes (USA/Canada) (*)
· Local Access Numbers
· Pay Phone Charge - No in Canada, may be applied in USA
The question is...do these calling cards change their rates higher often without telling you?
Do Calling Cards quietly change their rates "skyward" very often?
Yes, that is how the phone card industry works. It's a bait and switch unfortunately. That's why the average lifespan of a phone card is about 4 to 5 months. A lot a people will start buying the phone card and get used to it, then after a month or two, the quality will start to deteriorate and the rates will increase. This is how they make their money. Once people catch on and stop buying the card, the phone card company will make a new card and do the same thing all over again.
I personally got sick of this and decided to go with something more reliable. I found http://www.Tel3Advantage.us to be outstanding. Their rates are very competitive and there are no hidden costs whatsoever. The rates go down if anything.
They do provide service in Canada too.
Try them and let me know what you think.

Will I be charged for the call at the hotel if I use a calling card?
I am going to the middle of knowhere for 2 weeks. I did some research and the area is roaming through my cell phone. Looking at the hotel online, it says that local calls are free for up to 30 minutes. Would a calling card constitute the same type of thing? As it would be like a 1-800 number?
Will I be charged for the call at the hotel if I use a calling card?
If the number is a 1-800 number you usually just dial 9 then the number %26amp; there is NO charge for this.
Reply:Shouldn't have to pay the hotel anything but then again they may have rules and charges that they want to charge anyway. When in doubt...ask before making the call.

What international calling cards to you recommend?

I have always used AT%26amp;T calling cards. He will need to go online to get the AT%26amp;T access number for Greece first though.
What you do (when in Greece) is dial the access number for Greece. The AT%26amp;T lady will greet him saying "dial your number" or whatever and that's when he'll dial the phone number for the calling card and go through the steps of the PIN and everything else.
That's the only one's I've used though.

Are there any calling cards that dont have a connection fee or other service charge for use from pay phones?
All calling cards have a mandatory fee when used with a pay phone. They can vary, but can be substantial. The last time I tried that, I was charged a dollar or more for using a pay phone. I won't do that again. I'm sticking to my pre-paid cell phone.!

Would my bf get charged when I call him when using a calling card?
I was just wondering when I use a prepaid calling card to call my bf on his cellphone in the States would he get charged with international fees? Also I'm using my land phone to call him.
Would my bf get charged when I call him when using a calling card?
he will only be charged the minutes he is using on his cell as if it were any other call. if you are calling when he has free minutes, there is nothing to be charged. it does not matter who is calling a cell phone and from where.
Reply:NO, unless you got it reverse charged.
But, some 3rd world countries still charge for incoming mobile phone calls. So be careful sweety :)
Reply:He would not get charged international fees as you are the one placing the call... those charges are yours. However, he will still be charged his airtime minutes as with any other call.

When using a prepaid calling card, is it true that my home phone number will not appear on the caller ID?
I don't want to person to know my number. I heard that the number of the calling card company appears on their caller id.
When using a prepaid calling card, is it true that my home phone number will not appear on the caller ID?
In most cases, your number will not appears because you will dial an 800 for the calling card company that you are using, then your call gets "routed" through that companies data bank, then routes through what ever phone companies lines that are needed to connect that call. There are rare instances that some calling card place calls show the originating phone number, such as your number would be, but again those are rare times this would happen. To be sure, call the customer service number for your calling card and verify with them how they route their calls and what number will appear.
Reply:MANY calling cards will just pass your CID information along with the call... SOME calling cards will not send your CID info...
if you are unsure if the calling card you are using will pass the CID info of your phone, use the calling card to dial your cell phone (you dont have to answer it to waste calling card minutes... ) and see what number, if any comes up..
CID info is not always accurate.. .however if you attempt to call a number that uses ANI, instead of CID to identify callers (usually 800#s. 900# 911, 311, etc) they will not receive your ANI
Reply:Since you have to dial the prepaid card phone, your number doesn't appear on the caller id of the person you're calling. You will be safe :). Also you can try *67 before you dial any number and your number will be blocked so no body will now the number you're calling from.
Reply:Last year I called a number using a calling card, and I thought the other person wouldn't know who was calling but my number was identifified., so the answer is yES IT WILL appear ur home number even if u use a card.
Reply:Yeah i think that's true.

Reply:Yes, it will usually say a state. Actually any place- My sister called with a calling cardthe other day and it said Guam!

Reply:I've used one to call my brother before and he said my number was on the caller ID. I didn't think it would be. Not that it mattered to me, because he's my brother and I wasn't needing or wanting to hide my number from him.

I have a few people that are over seas that i would like to call. But international service is expensive on my cell phone. I have heard there is calling card that can be used with cell phones. But i have no idea where to start. Plus my mobile/cell is pre-paid. Does it matter?

Can AT&T calling cards be used for long distance faxing?
This is what their site said when I put in FAXING: While you can send local faxes without a long distance carrier, you will need to select a carrier in order to send faxes to numbers that are long distance or local toll calls. You can sign up for AT%26amp;T service right now, online. It takes just a few moments and will eliminate delays and difficulties when you need to send a fax outside your local calling area.

Best international calling card company from US to the United Kingdom?
I trying to find a reputable and affordable calling card company to make international phone calls from the US to the United Kingdom. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Best international calling card company from US to the United Kingdom?
I am an Aussie living in US and am calling Australia constantly. The company I use is Viapin and they have some great calling cards to the UK also. I now use a company called Vonage for my landline and if you can, this would work out heaps better for you as they do local/long distance calling for $24.95 month and this includes free calls to UK, Italy Ireland and various other European countries! If this is not an option for you, then got to viapin and research the cards they have to offer. Make sure you look at the expiration dates and call connection fees and take these into account when looking at your final per minute price. Good luck

I would recommend Euro Saver phone card http://bestratescall.com/cards/Euro_Save...
It's good for long calls and calling rate to USA from France is only 1 cent per min.
Reply:I've been using pingo for the last year and a half but recently it's been really screwing up within the last month. They have good customer service but lately the numbers I call outside the U.S. seem to be redirected to random people in the country. It sucks when you run into a problem with about $50 loaded on your account. My advice would be to get a magicjack. It works as advertised and if your bf wants to call you he would just be calling a local number that you brought with you. The only problem with that is you need to be around a broadband computer. Don't forget to dial 00 when you want to dial outside of Europe.
Reply:I have come across a phone service that allows you to make international calls by simply dialing a local rate phone number. So if you can make free local calls (free inclusive minutes on your phone tariff), then this will be included and the international call will be free. See the links below for more details.... I have been using this service for over 12 months now and i also noticed that there is a special offer for new customers....

What is the best prepaid calling card for calls from the USA to Seville, Spain?
This is going to surprise u, but it also surprised me when i got it. I use it to call Spain too.
I thought that it would never work but it does!!It is a prepaid phone card(ibasis) and i bought it at the dollar store. And yes, just for a dollar. I guess it would be at any dollar store.
I have used it several times and it hasnt given me any problems. And it gives u many minutes( i dont remember how many)
All u have to do is call a toll free number and then add the pin# (it comes in ur card)and : 011 34 and her phone number
as easy as that!lol
hope this would help u!!!
Reply:surelly they are all pretty similar, i suggest just having a look online if i was u

How do I send a fax from a computer with a calling card?
I want to use my computer to send a fax but the recipient is a long distance call and I don't have a long distance plan. Is there a way I can use a calling card? Do you have any other solution, and keep in mind I would like it to be 100% free (no free trials).
How do I send a fax from a computer with a calling card?
Yes you can use a calling card. However this assumes that you have a fax modem and a calling card that will be free.
Scan or save you image to your computer. All you need then is to call the 800 number for he calling card, the pin# and then the far end fax machine number and send it.

Long distance calling cards?
I live in Canada and want to make calls to other parts of the country.
My problem is that I only have a cell phone and I don't want to rack up excessive roaming fee etc. when making long distance calls because my father gets the monthly bill (the phone is on a family plan)
Which calling card would be best for my situation?
Long distance calling cards?
The best card to use while calling other parts of the country depends on the country you calling.Different calling cards have different calling rates in different countries try this website and am sure you going to find a suitable calling card http://www.nikenya-phone-cards.com/

If I use a calling card to make a call from my home phone, will it show up?
I am wondering if I make a call using a calling card from my home phone, will the number (or anything at all) be listed on my bill? I know I won't be charged, but I want to know if it will be listed anywhere. Thanks!
If I use a calling card to make a call from my home phone, will it show up?
I think so... When I use a calling card to make a call on my cell phone, the number on the calling card shows up on my bill. However, the number of the person that I am calling does not show up. I'm not sure if the same is true for landline phone bills.
Reply:If I were you I would call your phone carrier and ask them.
Reply:Whatever number is on the calling card will show up, but not the number of the person you're calling.
Reply:It depends on your calling card "access numbers".
If the "access" number is a local number, then it is processed the same as all local calls - no toll charge, and thus will not show up on your bill as a line item.
If the access number is out of your local calling area (and for sure if in another area code) you will be billed for the call to the calling card access number gateway - in essence it is a long distance call, thus billed.
But, if your calling card access gateway is a 1-800/866/877/888 number, then it is treated as any other toll-free call and should not show up on your phone bill.
Typically, only calls that are line-itemed as an extra charge show up on your bill. If it isn't an extra charge, it's wasting space on the bill typically won't be listed.

Can you call someone on a cell phone using a calling card and not use daytime minutes?
The calling card will be used using my cell phone and not a land phone. Is this possible without wasting my daytime minutes? Or is it better to use a land phone when calling someone with a calling card?
Can you call someone on a cell phone using a calling card and not use daytime minutes?
Just use SKYPE if is "almost free" to no only USA but many other countries.
Reply:Use a land phone. I used to call an 800 number to talk to my cousin years ago when I was young and didn't know any better. THEY STILL CHARGE YOU!!!!
Calling card or not.
Reply:You will still use up your mobile minutes if you use a calling card. The only purpose for using the card is if the card is for international calls, so you wont get charge by your mobile carrier.

Can I use a calling card with my cell phone?
i want to call the UK without having the 2.00 a minute show up on my phone bill. If I go buy a calling card, can I use it with my cell phone? Or do calling cards only work on landlines or payphones?
And how do calling cards work?
Thank you so much to whoever answers.
Can I use a calling card with my cell phone?
Yes you can use a calling card for your cell phone. Make sure you are getting a good rate for whereever it is you plan on calling. It will be a local call as far as your cell phone provider is concerned, but it will use your minutes. Other than that, make sure the calling card doesn't have any hidden fees, etc.
Reply:Not only are u going to pay the amount for the calling card...but you will also be billed for the airtime on the cell phone. Maybe ur cell phone company has a plan for international calls.
Reply:International rates will be even higher on a calling card.
Reply:Sure. You can use calling card and your cellphone to call UK. It will only use your regular air time, will not charge you long distance fee.
By using calling card, you need to dial your local access number or toll free access number, then input PIN, finally dial the destination number. The dialing instruction will be easily found on the back of calling card, or in your email if you buy calling card online.
Try http://www.eecalling.com/p/?id_from_coun... to compare and find the best deal for calling card.
Calling from USA to UK, the best calling rate is 0.9 cent / min with maintenance fee, or 1.7 cents / min without maintenance fee. All cards have NO connection fee.
Buy online by Paypal and credit card. Receive instant PIN from your email after online purchase.
Reply:You can use a calling card with your cell phone. Generally, to use a calling card you dial an 800 number and then enter your code for international calling. There are different cards for different countries so be sure to check out the rates and the "connection fees." You will be charged cell minutes as well as the fee charged by the calling card, of course.

What is the difference between prepaid and a calling card? Can you use a calling card with a cell phone?
If I am just calling long distance does it cost more if I use a calling card on a cell phone? Or do I have to sign up with a cell phone company?
What is the difference between prepaid and a calling card? Can you use a calling card with a cell phone?
Most of the time depending on how long distance it is, it is easier to buy a calling card and use it at a phone booth. Less hassle and no worries after your trip. If you are normally out of town and have NO cellphone it is smarter to buy a prepaid minute phone. That way you will know how many minutes are on your cell, you can use it anytime (especially while traveling and driving) and in case of emergencies, dial 911. Hope that helps...
Reply:this one is much cheaper
http://www.telthreeadvantage.com/
Reply:a prepaid phone uses units, like to check a voice mail costs you 5 units, a card with 100 units costs 20.00.
A calling card charges you 29 cents to connect and 8 cents per minute. you can use a calling card with a cell phone, my owner manual has the set up for it. but I dont know if you would still be charged just for using the phones minutes.
depends on your cell phone plan. can you afford a cell phone and the monthly fee?
Reply:buying calling card is quite easy. If you set up with a cell phone company, the long distance rate must be higher than a calling card.
If you are going to buy a calling card, I highly recommend PIN free access. But if your cell phone plan has lots of air time, you can try calling cards without PIN free access option.

How can I establish a VOIP calling card business?
There are lot of VOIP calling card systems in Canada. So I'm planning to start a calling card business, please advice how to establish a network. Unless please give me the links to find it.
How can I establish a VOIP calling card business?
Maybe u can join the Cordia VOIP Company as an agent. You don't need to build a Web site, send in a deposit, or buy inventory. It's totally free to join.
You can promote their product through online because they provided us the website banner and the website url. Or you can sell the product directly to your customer. As an Agent, you will receive a USD30 bonus every time one of your customers signs up with you. Plus, you will receive monthly commissions equal to 10% of your customers' prior month's payments for as long as they remain a customer. If each of your customer’s prior month’s payments is USD100, you will receive monthly commissions of USD10 (10% of your customer’s prior month’s payments). And if you managed to sign up 50 customers, you will receive USD500 monthly commissions.
U can click on the link below to sign up as an agent. You need to type in this code AGLEEX182X in the first box “Parent Agent's Promo Code” and keep filling out the form.

What calling card to use, with free access number in the UK?
I live in the UK, and last time I bought a calling card I used the "local access" number from my land line. I live outside of Cardiff, so I thought calling Cardiff would be free. It wasn't and it cost me every time I made a call. Does anyone know a calling card to use from here, that I can use from my landline that won't charge me? Local calls in our town are free, but they are sure to not be on the list of national calling cities, anyone run into this same problem? Thanks!

If I use a prepaid calling card to make long distance calls from my cell phone will my cell phone charge me?
I don't want to use my cell phone to make long distance calls because it would be really expensive, so I was going to buy a sprint calling card, and use that to make long distance calls from my cell phone. I just don't want to have to pay a fee with my cell phone company for the calls as well as buying the cards.
If I use a prepaid calling card to make long distance calls from my cell phone will my cell phone charge me?
If you are making calls to an 800 number to access the time on your prepaid card, then the minutes used while on that call will most likely go against your airtime allowance on your calling plan. If you make the call when you have unlimited minutes, like during nights and weekends (if your plan includes n%26amp;w) then the mins would not go against your allowance.
Reply:No. Phone calls made with phone card are charged only to your phone card balance. The long distance fee is deducted from the balance directly. International Phone Card Review
Reply:most companies now have long distance included in ur plan. so u really dont get charged for the call specially if u call on free nights/weekends. but other wise it just takes ur minutes off ur minutes in ur plan.
Reply:I don't think it will, I've been using prepaid card to call from my cellphone and my home phone. And I don't think i got charged for anything. But I noticed that when I called from a public phone, I did get charged for that. I'm using At%26amp;T and vonage anyway, so maybe different provider has different policy.

What is the best internatiol calling card to use for calls from US home phones to a cell phone in rural Kenya?
I have made a few calls on a Geo-Africa calling card that states, for example, 1 hr 11 minutes available, but I get cut off after only 40 minutes stating time had expired. This drives the rate from a published 14.5 cents/minute to over 25 cents/min. Is there a more reliable card?
What is the best internatiol calling card to use for calls from US home phones to a cell phone in rural Kenya?
Most of these cards have small print such as:
(i)3 minute rounding off
(ii) Bi-weekly maintenance fee
(iii)Higher rate for cell phone or calling 1-800 access number as opposed to local access #s
(iv) Thes biz are not regulated, so they cheat and get away with it
(v) Connection fee
(vi) Depends also on location and whether the card is meant for a different location
Anyway, here are some of the best ways forward (in order of preference):
(i) Get skype has not too low but very very clear calls
(ii)Try these cards
(a) bestpricedcards.com (pick one of the "Best to call, no fee")
(ii)Phonecardsonsale.com, select no fee ones
(iii) Caribone.com
Best idea is not to always use one card: after they know (i think) that you are loyal, the level of service suddenly deteriotes
Reply:Look at Nobelcom http://www.nvcards.com/ or SpeedyPin http://www.primevote.com/SpeedyPin.htm. Both offer great quality at low rates.

Reply:The rate calling to cellphone is different, usually higher.
Check out the following calling cellphone rates:

18.7 cents/min. with maintenance fee, and 19.9 cents/min. without maintenance fee, all for cellphone. If it is not to call cellphone, much cheaper.
I'm a resident of India, I would like to know whether i can use calling cards to call phones in India itself.
If yes can u suggest a provider?
I'm a resident of India, I would like to know whether i can use calling cards to call phones in India itself.
Use PC to Phone card. For calling within India the rate is 10.6 cents/min. Rounding is 1 min. No connection/ maintenance fees. Rechargeable. For details visit International Phone Card Review
Reply:ofcoz.u can.u can purchase the card provided my bsnl.read the instructions back side of it. money will be cancelled from the card
Reply:calling cards are actually the cheapest methods to call India. Though we use Skype. It comes out costlier to use skype. About twice as much costly but the sound quality is good. For calling cards, i would suggest STi Phone cards. they are $5 dollars for a regular card and give you an hour of talktime. you can also buy them online with ur credit card.
Reply:I'm not sure if this will help, but you can purchase a SIM card with prepaid minutes, where you can call any number in India, as long as you still have minutes remaining. It works the same way as a calling card, however newer technology. I don't really know any providers who have this service, because I don't live in India. However, I was there not too long ago, and noticed this option.
Hope that helps.

What is the best prepaid calling card to use?
I live in the USA and want to make some calls to Egypt. I want the cheapest card with the lowest connection rate per min.
I have been buying my cards from gas stations so far. But I am looking for something better. I want to be sure that if I buy a card specifically advertised as a card to call Egypt with 80 mins on it, that I get a card with 80 full mins; not some recalculated aproximation of 80 mins that only gives me 15 mins in actual time.

Reply:Check http://www.eecalling.com, some of the cards don't have Maintenance Fee, some have, and Rounding minutes the lower the better, all depends on how you used the cards.
you can buy your card anywhere at any time, you get the PIN NO. instantly after you paid.

What is the most trustworthy calling card company for international calls?
I'm having trouble finding a calling card that doesn't overcharge when you make the actual call. They keep overcharging me, and then when I call their customer service they say it was a mistake, and I eventually get refunded. This happens to me with different companies...... Does anyone know of a truly reputable calling card? Thanks! :)

Reply:I live in Illinois and but calling card from almost any grocery store. I use the ones for Europe and they cost $5 for 1-2 hours. Try going to different types of small grocery shops, they usually have them cheapper than a Walgreens for example. Good luck :)
Reply:The best is all the cards from IDT. Here in Texas, I use the Texas Red Card and call Ukraine for about 9 cents a minute. The phones going out of the States are fine...the ones in-country maybe not so much.

Reliable (online) purchase of calling cards from the US to the middle east? Please! urgent!?
i never bought a calling card online, but need one asap to call the middle east. i googled few but i don't know it the websites are secure or reliable. any advice? thanks in advance!
Reliable (online) purchase of calling cards from the US to the middle east? Please! urgent!?
Why online? Try going to AT %26amp; T or Verizon who have good international calling rates. See if either have a calling card online or go to a retail outlet. If it is THAT urgent, isn't it worth it to be SURE it is the real deal??
Reply:Your Kidding right????? Go to Wal-Mart and purchase a calling card (can be used internationally) for relativly cheap or get NET ZERO's voice over I.P. program and pay by the minite for international calls.

From amsterdam to the US? Any calling card you can buy in shops or post offices would give you a good rate. But I can't tell if you want to call from the US to europe, if that's the case I call using jupiter cards for pennies a minute.

Calling cards? I need an international one!!!?
I need to get a calling card for my husband but he will be in kuwait and iraq and the ones he gets charge him several minutes for calling out of the u.s.
Where can i get an international one that won't charge him so many minutes to call me?
Calling cards? I need an international one!!!?
The best card to get is a spawar card...my husband calls home ALL the time and it only costs 4 cents a minute. Sometimes they even have days where you can call home for free. My husband has been deployed for the past 13 months and this is the only card we ever use.
http://www.oif.spawareurope.net/
Reply:He shouldn't need an international calling card. Just get a regular AT%26amp;T calling card. When soldiers are in Iraq, the phones call out just like he was in the states. Also get one that is rechargable. You keep the card and just give him the numbers off of it, so you can get more minutes on it when he needs them.
Reply:A lot of gas stations, convenience stores, etc. have good calling cards. I got one at a gas station that charges 1 cent a minute international. good luck.
Reply:check online and compare rates i have couple but dont know if are they good for iraq
Reply:he can get a spawar card at the base he is at which has better rates then most calling cards that you will find here. my husband is deployed now and we have found yahoo voice and messaging to be great!!!!!!! we can do webcam, he can call me without having to stand in a line to use th phone, and he can text me from his computer.
i hope that helps
Reply:The phone cards through AT%26amp;T and through AAFES are the best. Unfortunately, it's just plain expensive to call, no matter what.
Reply:AT%26amp;T has the best (believe it or not) but your husband will have access to a DSN phone and the calls will be free for him. My husband has been deployed 6 times (to Iraq and Afghanistan) and he has yet to use a single calling card. They always GIVE him two or three free calling cards every time he goes and now we have a ton of those cards in the house.
