How does a calling card # show up on caller Id?

I had someone call me from restricted # and they said it was a calling card, do they usually show up restricted #'s. They called on my cell phone

How does a calling card # show up on caller Id?
When my grandma calls me using her calling card, it usually shows up with a phone number from Atlanta, GA, and she is in Kansas. We usually buy her calling cards at Wal-Mart or Sam's Club. I think it just depends on the company issuing the calling card as to what shows up on your caller ID.
Reply:yes since using a calling card, you have to use the toll free number... these types of businesses will usually block their numbers from the caller ID
Reply:when my sister calls me with her calling card it shows up [call] i also have a cell phone
Reply:usually different cities in the US show up!!! where ever there have the access numbers from...
Reply:the calling card # won't show up.. the # of the phone your calling from will..
