International calling cards?

I'm going to france in a week and I want to be able to call my bf once while i'm gone, but i don't understand all the legal stuff on the back of the international calling cards. anyone know good brands that i can use when calling from france to the united states and maybe about what the minute rates would be? and where i can get them? i need someplace simple like walmart because i'm in rural ohio

Reply:I've been using pingo for the last year and a half but recently it's been really screwing up within the last month. They have good customer service but lately the numbers I call outside the U.S. seem to be redirected to random people in the country. It sucks when you run into a problem with about $50 loaded on your account. My advice would be to get a magicjack. It works as advertised and if your bf wants to call you he would just be calling a local number that you brought with you. The only problem with that is you need to be around a broadband computer. Don't forget to dial 00 when you want to dial outside of Europe.

So if you can make free local calls (free inclusive minutes on your phone tariff), then this will be included and the international call will be free. See the links below for more details....
