What is the difference between prepaid and a calling card? Can you use a calling card with a cell phone?

If I am just calling long distance does it cost more if I use a calling card on a cell phone? Or do I have to sign up with a cell phone company?

Most of the time depending on how long distance it is, it is easier to buy a calling card and use it at a phone booth. Less hassle and no worries after your trip. If you are normally out of town and have NO cellphone it is smarter to buy a prepaid minute phone. That way you will know how many minutes are on your cell, you can use it anytime (especially while traveling and driving) and in case of emergencies, dial 911. Hope that helps...
Reply:this one is much cheaper

Reply:a prepaid phone uses units, like to check a voice mail costs you 5 units, a card with 100 units costs 20.00.

A calling card charges you 29 cents to connect and 8 cents per minute. you can use a calling card with a cell phone, my owner manual has the set up for it. but I dont know if you would still be charged just for using the phones minutes.

depends on your cell phone plan. can you afford a cell phone and the monthly fee?
Reply:buying calling card is quite easy. If you set up with a cell phone company, the long distance rate must be higher than a calling card.

If you are going to buy a calling card, I highly recommend PIN free access. But if your cell phone plan has lots of air time, you can try calling cards without PIN free access option.
