Calling cards used with cell fones?

Say your minutes are free after 9pm and you called sumbody internationally with a calling card...does it count as the "free call" or yud get charged

Calling cards used with cell fones?
it is a free call
Reply:I believe that you'd be charged on the calling card, but=t you would not get charged on your phone, because its free after 9pm.

For example, if your caling card is 60 mins, and you called at 10pm. Lets say your call is 30 mins long. You'd just use up half of your calling card limit (30 out of 60) but you'd not get charged for using your phone, because your minutes are free after nine.
Reply:my boyfriend does it all the time and it would be free if u call them after 9 or on the weekends if u have free nights/weekends. but if u use it during the peak hours then it just uses ur minutes from ur plans.
Reply:im pretty sure it'll be free, i mean, that is the whole point of a calling card, to not get charged....but dont go by what i say lol
Reply:Depending on the carrier, but usually it is free of charge and does not count against your minutes. I work for Sprint and my wife does this all the time when she uses her cell phone to make calls internationally. Before you do it I would call up customer service just to make sure. Better that than getting a big surprise on your next bill.

On a seperate note make sure you start the call on or after 9PM as the minutes count against when you originally place (or receive) the call. For example, if you make a call at 8:55 Pm that lasts 30 minutes the entire 30 minutes will be charged against your unused minutes, even though 25 minutes of the call were after the 9PM 'free' time. That works the same if you receive a call as well.

Conversely if you make a call during the 'free' time period that extends into the non-free time period this would not count against your unused minutes. To use the above example again lets say the free minutes time ended at 7 AM and you place a call at 6:55 AM that lasts 30 minutes. None of those 30 minutes would be charged against your unused minutes because the call was originated during the free minutes time period.
