What is the best kind of calling card to send my boyfriend who is deployed in Djibouti (Africa)?

I've been looking around to see what would be the best calling card to send him, or the best means of phone communication with him. We both have T-Mobile, but it seems like an arm and a leg for him to use his cell phone over there. Any ideas? I'd appreciate it greatly. It's my first deployment, so it's been SO difficult... and it's only been two days!!!

When my ship was on deployment in 2003, we all got AT%26amp;T calling cards. They work all over the world. He'll just have to find out what the code is for calling out from Djibouti. Someone at his command should be able to tell him.
